RENÉ GRUAU (RENATO DE ZAVAGLI, 1909-2004) [LES GIRLS / LA FEMME AU JAUNE.] Circa 1980. 51x29 inches, 129 1/2x73 3/4 cm. Condition A. Signed and numbered 289/300 by the artist. Framed. In the early 1980s, Gruau worked with Sylvie Nissen who owned the gallery in the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, to design decorative lithographs which were issued as fine art prints in limited editions. This image, from a series of three, entitled Les Girls, is a dynamic mixture of haute couture illustration and Japanese-influenced calligraphy.
